American painter Joseph Wolins (1915-1999) was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1915. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York from 1935-1941. He held his first solo exhibit at the New York Contemporary Arts Gallery in 1947. His paintings are held in private and public collections including the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
