I stumbled across these great king and queen ceramic pieces while searching for mid-century sculptures. They are made to either hang on the wall or stand alone. Unfortunately I didn't get any information on them at the time I found them, except for their heights; the queen is 14" and the king is 16". If I was to guess at who the artist was I would probably say John R. Nartker (1930-1998); these pieces have similarities to the large scale chess set he created. If anyone has additional information on them, i.e. who made them, please fill us in. I plan on making similar pieces someday.
